How do I mix live sets in the rack?
Although there are now all sorts of all-rounders in modular form, one factor counts, especially for live performances: direct access. Accordingly, a few modules quickly come together that need to be routed somewhere and mixed. And effects like reverb and delay are also needed. Oh yeah, recording the set would be cool too, right? We have a recommendation for you!
The guys from 1010 Music have taken their Bluebox from the desktop into the Eurorack, which brings a mixer with up to 12 channels and effects into your setup on a relatively small 30HP, including a recorder. Daniel and Marco have therefore incorporated the box directly into their weekly jam sessions. You can listen to a live recording via the QR code if you feel like it.
What is the bluebox Eurorack Edition capable of?
The bluebox is a multi-track recorder that integrates a 12-channel mixer and can record up to 12 individual tracks, stereo sum and FX channels onto a micro SD card. With the touch display and the existing controls and buttons, the bluebox offers extensive tone adjustment options, including a 4-band EQ (Cut/Shelf/Parametric), delay and reverb effects and a master compressor. All settings can be saved and quickly accessed at any time. The 12 channels can be routed in hardware to any combination of the 4 mono or 2 stereo outputs and the headphone output. The device also has 6 CV inputs. You can use the USB-C port EXT to send two audio channels from your computer to the bluebox or from it to your computer to record your mix within a DAW.
The module comes with a TRS MIDI I/O port and a USB-C port DEV (MIDI clock/sync or control of MIDI controllers). And last but not least: The output section has been upgraded and now has 12 input and 4 output sockets. In contrast to the desktop version, you no longer have to deal with Y adapters to control the full number of channels. www.1010music.com
