Alpine time-out with an overview of the essentials
A farm with a 500-year-old history, which today presents itself as a top modern wellness oasis in the middle of the South Tyrolean Dolomites – it is exactly this exciting mixture awaits guests at Hotel Pfösl. Great architecture and the sustainable interaction with nature in all areas make a holiday in the Alps even more precious.
Exceptional design ideas in the picturesque mountain world
The irresistible scent of Swiss stone pine, spruce and other local woods welcomes us to the idyllically situated and at the same time striking hotel. No matter whether the lobby, rooms or one of the three exclusive chalets at the edge of the forest, natural materials are the focus of attention everywhere. The architect couple Michaela Wolf and Gerd Bergmeister have created an exciting building that spans the old and the new out of the ancient farm with its panoramic view. The leisure facilities on the huge property are as varied and attractive as the design.
From the infinity pool we look out over lush meadows, then we go to the barefoot course and relax in one of the seven saunas and head onto the meadow to do yoga with manager Eva.
The good souls of the Hotel Pfösl
The two sisters Eva and Brigitte Zelger are primarily responsible for the wonderful ambience and the warm hospitality in the Hotel Pfösl. The women grew up in the hotel and have known many a regular guest since childhood. They take care of all the needs of the guests and numerous employees. Brigitte also has two other passions: collecting medicinal herbs and baking bread according to old traditions. She likes to pass on the knowledge from both hobbies to her visitors, for example during a herb hike out in nature.
Wellness from the inside
Every Thursday afternoon from spring to autumn, chef Markus Thurner bakes fresh bread in the 300-year-old stone oven in the garden, which is then served with the first course of dinner. The other dishes and even the odd drink in the hotel bar are full of aromatic green herbs from the hotel's own garden. The remaining ingredients also come directly from the surrounding area, from the numerous farmers in the valley. Special menus, for example for an alkaline diet, provide well-being from the inside out in addition to the wellness programme. After a successful stay, we return to our every-day lives completely strengthened and refreshed, already dreaming of our next stay at Hotel Pfösl.
