VIENNESE COFFEE HOUSE CULTURE MEETS 300-YEAR-OLD BAROQUE PALACE

At the luxurious Althoff Grandhotel Schloss Bensberg - formerly a princely hunting lodge, today one of the world’s leading hotels - guests are currently experiencing a very special “Afternoon Event” just outside Cologne: Café Sacher Pop Up is taking place for the second time until 2 January 2022. From Fridays to Sundays between 15:00 and 18:00, the Salvador Dalí Bar will be transformed into a Viennese coffee house. With the original Sacher Torte on your plate, accompanied by a Viennese mélange or a tea speciality, the cosy atmosphere of the bar with its colourful illustrations will quickly make you forget the dreary winter days outside. For exclusive enjoyment at home, the probably most famous cake in the world is also available “to go” in the hotel and on 17 December 2021 on pre-order in the AMERON Bonn Hotel Königshof, which also belongs to the Althoff Group. If you wish, the dessert icon can also be delivered by the original Sacher cake taxi within Cologne on these two days. In the new year, the Royal Tea Time with a historical tour of the palace is back on the agenda on Sundays: After a 1.5-hour tour peppered with history and stories with tour guide Monique Renson, the tea ceremony with a glass of champagne, delicious sandwiches, scones with whipped cream and other highlights from the in-house patisserie will take you back to the time of princes and kings.

Im luxuriösen Althoff Grandhotel Schloss Bensberg – früher ein fürstliches Jagdschloss, heute eines der führenden Hotels der Welt – erleben Gäste aktuell vor den Toren von Köln ein ganz besonderes „Afternoon Event“: Noch bis zum 2. Januar 2022 findet bereits zum zweiten Mal das Café Sacher Pop Up statt. Freitags bis sonntags zwischen 15:00 und 18:00 Uhr verwandelt sich die Salvador Dalí Bar in ein Wiener Kaffeehaus. Mit der original Sachertorte auf dem Teller, begleitet von einer Wiener Melange oder einer Teespezialität, lassen sich in der gemütlichen Atmosphäre der Bar mit ihren farbintensiven Illustrationen die tristen Wintertage vor der Tür schnell vergessen. Für den exklusiven Genuss zu Hause gibt es die wohl berühmteste Torte der Welt im Hotel übrigens auch „to go“sowie am 17. Dezember 2021 auf Vorbestellung im Ameron Bonn Hotel Königshof, das ebenfalls zur Althoff-Gruppe gehört. Wer möchte, kann die Dessert-Ikone an diesen beiden Tagen auf Wunsch auch mit dem Original Sachertorten-Taxi innerhalb Kölns liefern lassen. Im neuen Jahr steht dann sonntags wieder, ganz regulär, die Royal Tea Time mit historischer Schlossführung auf dem Programm: Nach einer 1,5-stündigen, mit Geschichte und Geschichten gespickten Tour mit Gästeführerin Monique Renson träumt es sich bei der Teezeremonie mit einem Glas Champagner, köstlichen Sandwiches, Scones mit Schlagrahm und weiteren Highlights aus der hauseigenen Patisserie wunderbar in die Zeit von Fürsten und Königen zurück.
