Amplifying voices

Siegessaeule - - An English Round Up -

> The International Women’s Space (IWS) was founded in 2013 in the refugee-occupied school building on Reichenberger Straße. Although police forced an eviction last year, the IWS continues to tackle the problems unique to women refugees. On November 25 (the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women), they self-published InOurOwnWords, a book aiming to amplify unheard voices. It comprises ten testimonials (in both English and German) by ten refugees recounting the sexism, racism and transphobia they have endured in their homelands and here in Germany. You can grab a copy at the new IWS location at Warschauer Straße 23 on Wednesdays from 15:00-18:00, or read the digital version for free at their website. < jh iwspace.word
