PROVENCE LAVENDER PROTECTION
With the launch of the new Lavande Blanche fragrance line, L'OCCITANE reflects on the links between beauty, nature and heritage.
For decades, L'OCCITANE has been a symbol of luxury in French cosmetics, with a wide range of remarkable products from skin care to hair care. In the manufacture of its products, the company has set six areas of action: respect for biodiversity, support for producers, waste reduction, empowerment of women, care for the eyes and appreciation of craftsmanship. These areas underscore the company's intention to connect the world of beauty products with the preservation of the beauty of the world from which they draw their inspiration.
Lavender is integral to the natural landscape of Provence, where L’OCCITANE was born in 1976. The close connection to lavender has always been a part of the company’s history, placing importance on the local lands and those who cultivate them. Using two new varieties of lavender - the results of seven years of research - Lavande Blanche represents an ongoing commitment to the preservation of biodiversity and supporting producers.
For this project, L’OCCITANE has worked with its Lavender Endowment Fund in Provence to take action on the global lavender supply chain, working to realise their vision of sustainable sourcing and conservation.
The Lavande Blanche line celebrates lavender, which helps to reduce environmental impact with innovative cultivation methods. In addition, the fresh scent remains in our memory like a postcard of the last vacation: a trip to the south of France, a summer break and a deep breath of air.
