“Trea­sures of the Mid­dle Ages,” on show at the Byzan­tine & Chris­tian Mu­seum through Jan­uary 13, presents 445 ob­jects, mainly jew­elry, from the col­lec­tion of Poland’s Na­tional Mu­seum of Ar­chae­ol­ogy in War­saw. Dat­ing from the 11th to the 13th cen­tury and made of ma­te­ri­als in­clud­ing sil­ver, gold, cop­per, glass and semi­precious stones, the ar­ti­facts were ei­ther were un­earthed dur­ing the last cen­tury in ar­chae­o­log­i­cal ex­ca­va­tions in Poland, Be­larus and Ukraine or do­nated by pri­vate an­tiq­ui­ties col­lec­tors. The show also in­cludes a spe­cial sec­tion on a col­lec­tion of 36 pre­cious 11th cen­tury ob­jects dis­cov­ered at Borucin in cen­tral Poland in 1856.
