“Treasures of the Middle Ages,” on show at the Byzantine & Christian Museum through January 13, presents 445 objects, mainly jewelry, from the collection of Poland’s National Museum of Archaeolog­y in Warsaw. Dating from the 11th to the 13th century and made of materials including silver, gold, copper, glass and semiprecio­us stones, the artifacts were either were unearthed during the last century in archaeolog­ical excavation­s in Poland, Belarus and Ukraine or donated by private antiquitie­s collectors. The show also includes a special section on a collection of 36 precious 11th century objects discovered at Borucin in central Poland in 1856.
