FORECAST FOR THE WEEK AHEAD
Monday brings the full moon closest to the autumnal equinox, otherwise known as the harvest moon. If this cosmic aspect had a fable, it would be the folk tale “The Little Red Hen,” in which the hen plants, harvests, threshes and mills wheat without the help of the other lazy barnyard animals. Then, when she bakes the wheat into bread, everyone wants a piece of the “work” of eating. Alas, the hen gets all the pleasure.
Tomorrow’s harvest moon warns against passivity. Of all the self-defeating tendencies a person could have, passivity is among the most dangerous because it’s harder to detect. Passivity is prone to wearing disguises. It can look like peace. It can look like amenability. But it usually winds up looking like regret eventually.
The second cosmic warning comes late in the week via Saturn, and its message is about focus. Our experience is always directly correlated to our level of focus. Multitasking is thievery that robs all tasks of our engagement. We really can feel less alive as we bounce between tasks, and that’s because every time you’re pulled out of one task and into another, you lose a little energy at the juncture. Reduce distractions and avoid multitasking. You’ll have more energy and results at the end of the day. Bruce Springsteen has stood for the rock-’n’-roll dreams of all those working-class folks who affectionately refer to him as “The Boss.” Even while the iconic Jersey rocker is raking in the lifetime achievement awards, he continues to be about creating the future of his legacy. Springsteen was born when the sun, the moon, Mercury and Neptune were all in Libra, the sign of art, harmony and unity.
Though you’ll feel like a one-winged creature looking for another one-winged creature to fly with, the truth is that humans are unwinged and none of us fly without putting our trust in the society that created airplanes and the like. This week, you’ll make a plan, figure out who is reliable, invest your hopes and take flight.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23) SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21) Loyalty is important to you, but it’s not something you think about very much. Maybe it’s because you’re a straight shooter, and you assume that others are, too. The stakes will be raised this week. There will be more to consider. Think carefully about what you say and to whom. Give your trust judiciously.
