Nutmeg for your skin
Nutmeg is a spice that is known for its aroma and is used for the preparation of various dishes. Beyond its taste and aroma, nutmeg also has health benefits and it’s good for your skin too.
Dark spots, pigmentation and freckles appear due to excessive exposure to the ultra-violet rays of the sun, hormonal changes and ageing among other things. A nutmeg face mask can help.
Mix together nutmeg powder, lemon juice and plain yogurt in a bowl to a thick, but spreadable consistency. Apply to face and let it remain for 10 minutes. Rinse off with cold water and then apply your usual moisturiser.
Nutmeg is mildly abrasive, which makes it a great exfoliator for your skin, but it’s also gentle. You can mix it with other kitchen ingredients and give your skin a natural glow.
Mix together raw honey, baking soda, clove oil, nutmeg and lemon juice to make a fine paste.
Massage on to your face for at least two minutes; your skin will feel warm and tingly, then rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry.
Nutmeg helps shrink your pores and ensures a normal and healthy skin. Moreover, it has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties that help prevent acne.
