Next Sun­day, at the Turn­ing Point Sports Bar, Mark `Jumbie’ Wilt­shire, Chief Or­gan­is­ing Sec­re­tary of the Ge­orge­town Domi­noes As­so­ci­a­tion (GDA), will stage a domi­noes com­pe­ti­tion in hon­our of his birth an­niver­sary.

Com­menc­ing at 2pm, the tour­na­ment has at­tracted some of the coun­try’s top domi­noes teams such as C7, Strik­ers, Rage, Spar­tans, Mix-Up and oth­ers who will bat­tle for the lu­cra­tive prizes at stake,

The win­ning team will re­ceive $175,000 a tro­phy and nine medals while the run­ners up will re­ceive $75,000 and a tro­phy.

The third and fourth placed fin­ish­ers are set to re­ceive $35,000 and a tro­phy and $20,000 and a tro­phy re­spec­tively. The player of the fi­nal will re­ceive $10,000 while the best fe­male player in the com­pe­ti­tion is set to re­ceive a sim­i­lar amount.

En­trance fee per team is $15,000.

Ac­cord­ing to Wilt­shire, all prizes are guar­an­teed and teams must pay be­fore play­ing.

He added that all GNDA rules will be in ef­fect and there will be zero tol­er­ance, adding that arm­less at­tire and in­de­cent lan­guage will not be tol­er­ated.

Teams are also re­quired to walk with a good pack of domi­noes.

The spon­sors are Stag Beer, Big Boss Truck­ing Ser­vice, All Sea­sons Rac­ing Ser­vice, Tro­phy Stall, Spar­tans, the USA/Dy­nasty Sports Bar, and Tony’s Jew­ellery.
