MoE, MoH partner to help students with disabilities:

The Ministry of Education (MoE) and the Ministry of Health (MoH) on Wednesday provided wheelchairs to several students with special needs. In a statement, the MoE said that the donation was made as part of an effort to ensure that students who are differently-abled can continue to educate and elevate themselves.

The initiative was executed to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which was observed last Friday, December 3, 2021 under the theme ‘Leadership and participation of persons with disabilities towards an inclusive, accessible and sustainable post-COVID-19 world.’ The MoE statement said wheelchairs were given to three students from regions Two, Five and Ten who were identified via outreaches by the Regional Special Education Needs/Disability and Diagnostic Centre. This facility is staffed with persons from both the MoE and MoH and is located in the compound of the Cyril Potter College of Education’s Turkeyen Campus. (MoE photo)
