The Guyana Police Force (GPF) has issued a missing person’s notice for Roscoe McIntyre, 31, the man who had been accused of setting fire to the Arakaka Police Outpost in 2020.

It described him as being light in complexion and having a tear drop tattoo near his eye.

His last known address was given as Arakaka, in the North West District of Region One.

Anyone with information can contact the police or his sister on 642-2475.

In December of 2020, Mcintyre was charged with the crime of setting fire to a public place.

He had pleaded not guilty to the charge that on December 11, 2020, he set fire to the Arakaka Police Outpost. He was subsequently remanded to prison.

The fire was set to the outpost at about 2.30am on the day in question while several police officers were locked inside. However, the lawmen were able to escape and extinguish the fire before the building was severely damaged.

Information provided by the Subordinate Officer, who was on duty at that time, revealed that he along with several other officers were performing duties in the enquiries office when they heard a loud explosion. They immediately rushed to see what had happened and saw a huge blaze on the front door of the building.

They subsequently rushed and extinguished the blaze with water. Following the incident, the police said a partly burnt five-gallon bottle was found at the front door. They made checks around the building but no one was seen. It was disclosed that the perpetrator doused the front door with gas before setting it on fire.
