Man charged over possession of 200+ pounds of ganja

A man has been remanded to prison on a charge of possession of over 200 pounds of cannabis for trafficking.

Tion Clinton Thompson, according to the Guyana Police Force, was charged with possession of 93.6 kilogrammes of cannabis (equivalent to 206 pounds) at Cambridge Mahaica, East Coast Demerara.

He was arraigned before Magistrate Marissa Mittelholzer at the Mahaica Magistrate’s Court, where he pleaded not guilty to the charge. Bail was refused and he was remanded to prison until October 14, 2022.
