The First Lady must visit unannounced to see the lawlessness on the sea-walls

- Dear Editor, Sincerely, (Name and Address Provided)

The last time I wrote about the seawall was Thursday, August, 26th, 2021. When I spoke of the lawlessness, since then some works were done along with some new sitting benches installed facing the Atlantic Ocean; this was very good for us senior citizens to go sit and relax. However Editor, the lawlessness comprise of the following: vendors continue in large numbers to ply their trade with loud, loud music being played at a high level decibel rating. There are notices saying “vending is prohibited”, I counted 29 stalls including trampolines. I discovered two stalls were selling hard liquor without revenue licences, (GRA should look into this) and 18 stalls were selling beers & cigarettes.

I can’t say if the malt revenue licence and cigarette revenue licence were abolished, could the GRA please clarify this. So the vendors have taken over the seawall without any regard for others, the question I am asking is, when on earth this lawlessness will stop. In my letter of the above-mentioned date, I suggested that the vendors move down towards the western end of the Georgetown seawall. Taxpayers’ money were spent on enhancing the seawall and I now get the feelings that this project was just a “show” by the First Lady. My question to her is when last she has visited the Georgetown seawall to see the above-mentioned lawlessness that goes on? She must go there unannounced.
