It was also disclosed at the event that over $3 billion has been invested in developing infrastructure in Region Six’s housing sector by the present government.

According to a statement from CH&PA, the house lots will be distributed to low, moderate, and middle-income residents at housing schemes in Number 75 and Number 76 Villages, Corriverton, Region Six.

The statement noted that Minister Croal said that the allocation exercise will aid in the reduction of Region Six’s current application backlog. He further noted that the new housing areas include industrial and commercial buildings, as well as, religious, educational, and health facilities.

The report noted that Minister Croal also visited the location where he interacted with the allottees “who were all excited about their homeownership journey. These allottees only represent a fraction of the 240 persons allotted in the scheme.”

As infrastructure works continue in the area and other lots become accessible, the remaining allottees will be able to identify their respective lots, it added.

At the housing drive on Friday, Minister Rodrigues disclosed that more than $3 billion has been invested for infrastructural development in housing schemes “such as access roads, bridges, culverts, drainage, and electrical networks.”
