Marian Academy, St Pius and West Ruimveldt stay unbeaten
Former champions Marian Academy, St. Pius, and West Ruimveldt maintained their unbeaten record when the 9th edition of the Courts Pee Wee Boys U11 Football Championship continued yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.
St. Pius crushed Den Amstel 7-0 with Octain Moore bagging a hat-trick in the 26th and 28th and 30th minute while Ezekiel Lynch crafted a double in the second and 18th minute. Adding goals in the seventh and 38th minute respectively were Omar Moses, and Javani Tullock.
Marian Academy dismantled St. Margaret’s 5-0. Cristiano La Rose registered a hat-trick in the 12th, 16th and 39th minute while Maxwell Viapree, and Nyal George scored in the fourth and 10th minute respectively.
West Ruimveldt mauled Colaaco 5-0. Dane Vancooten tallied a double in the 20th and 25th minute, whilst Aaron Archer registered a brace in the 15th and 30th minute. Supporting with a 40th minute conversion in the 40th minute.
The event will conclude November 19th. All matches will be held at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue. The teams are divided into six groups of four. The top two finishers from each section and the four best third-placed teams will advance to the elimination round. The respective losers in the knockout section will progress to the plate division to battle for positions 5-16.
The winner of the tournament will receive the championship trophy, gold medals, and a pair of uniforms. Each player will also be presented with an electronic tablet.
On the other hand, the runners-up will collect a trophy, silver medals and six balls. Meanwhile, the third place finisher will pocket a trophy, and four balls while the fourth place side will walk away with a trophy.
On the individual side, a trophy and a pair of football cleats will be presented to the eventual Most Valuable Player, Highest Goal Scorer, and Best Goalkeeper.
