St Pius through to quarterfin­als

St. Pius, West Ruimveldt, Redeemer and Enterprise earned berths to the quarterfin­als when the ninth edition of the Courts Pee Wee boys U-11 football championsh­ips continued yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue in Georgetown.

St. Pius crushed Den Amstel 4-0. Aaron Vasconcell­os tallied a hattrick in the 23rd, 30th and 40th minute while Octain Moore scored in the fourth minute.

Similarly, West Ruimveldt downed Smith Memorial 5-0. Aaron Archer recorded a hat-trick in the 12th, 20th and 40th minute while Malachi Alleyne, and Teon Francis scored in the seventh and 15th minute apiece.

Likewise, Redeemer dismantled Mocha 5-1. Adiel Hamilton bagged a brace in the 12th and 36th minute, while Jonathan Ollivierre added a double in the 38th and 40th minute. Adding a goal in the 42nd minute was Jayden Kendall. For the losers, Jonathan Williams scored in the 30th minute.

Meanwhile, Enterprise dismissed Timehri Primary 3-0. Nahshon Wharton recorded a double in the 21st and 25th minute, while Fabio Kowlessar netted in the 35th minute. Below features the complete list of results from the round of 16 section.

The losers will progress to the plate division while the winner of the tournament will receive the championsh­ip trophy, gold medals, and a pair of uniforms. Each player will also be presented with an electronic tablet.

The runners-up will collect a trophy, silver medals, and six balls, while the third-place finisher will pocket a trophy and four balls and the fourth-place side will walk away with a trophy.

On the individual side, a trophy and a pair of football cleats will be presented to the eventual Most Valuable Player, Highest Goal Scorer, and Best Goalkeeper respective­ly.
