-

Jason Clark and Gwyneth Carter were the winners of the men’s and women’s divisions, respectively, on Friday night as Nexgen Golf ran off a successful staging of its inaugural Night Championship.

Despite overcast conditions, golf enthusiasts and novices were undeterred and gathered at the Scout Association Ground on Woolford Avenue for the event.

One of the highlights of the evening was the Glow Ball Competition, where participants competed for prizes by showcasing their accuracy and finesse under the dark night sky.

Winning the men’s category prize provided by Guyana Beverages Inc. was Jason Clark, while Gwyneth Carter took top honours in the women’s category and copped a prize from Sterling Products Ltd.

The Night Golf Event attracted participants of all skill levels, from seasoned pros to beginners. Commenting on the success of the event, Guyana Golf Academy President Aleem Hussain said, “As we reflect on the success of our Night Golf Event, we are energised by the enthusiasm and passion of our participants.”

“This event marks just the beginning of our journey to revolutionise golf in Guyana and inspire a new generation of players. We look forward to building on this momentum and continuing to push the boundaries of what’s possible.”

Meanwhile, Hussain extended thanks to the participants, sponsors, and partners who helped make the event a “resounding success.” “Special thanks to Sterling Products Ltd., Sunshine Snacks, Guyana Beverages Inc., and Pegasus Hotel & Suites,” he ended.
