Lucrative Budhan Memorial Turf Club meet this Sunday

The 2016 horse racing season continues on Sunday at the Budhan Memorial Turf Club with seven exciting races.

In excess of $3M in cash and trophies will be at stake during the event carded for the No.66 Village, Corentyne establishm­ent.

The J1 and Lower race is the feature event and thoroughbr­eds like Red Jet, Lady Secret, De Gump, Little, Affinity, Red Regent and others will vie for the $200,000 first prize.

Other races slated for the day include: J3 and lower, K2 and lower, L1 and lower, L2 and lower, Three-Year Old Guyana Bred and the Unclassifi­ed.

According to reports, the turf’s track is in excellent condition and all systems are in place for a grand day of horse racing.

The rules of the Guyana Horse Racing Authority will be enforced. Thursday is the deadline for the submission of entries. More informatio­n can be had from President of the Club, Neville Budhan or organizer Compton Sancho.
