Moscow has rejected allegations of hacking Democratic Party emails

Dear Editor, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov has advised the leadership of the US Democratic Party not to go over the edge while trying to discover Russia’s involvement in the hacker attacks on its computers.

“The fact that each of them ‒ analysts, political scientists and lobbyists ‒ sees the hand of Moscow everywhere reflects a certain complex formed in the US with regard to Russia. They get up with thoughts about Russia, they go to bed with thoughts about Russia, this is a permanent phenomenon,” he said. “This is a throwback to the 1950s, when a Congressman jumped out of the window shouting ‘The Russians are coming!’”

He expressed the hope that this time things will not go that far in the White House, Congress and the Democratic Party.

“When something ugly, unethical and wrong happens, they immediately switch attention to something else,” Ryabkov said. “Actually, some not very ethical action close to manipulation took place in favour of one of the Democratic candidates. Instead of addressing the issue, they switched to the alleged Russian involvement in the attack,” he said.

Clinton’s campaign manager, Robby Mook, earlier said that hackers who may have ties to Russia are allegedly assisting her rival in the presidential race, Donald Trump.

He alleged that they had stolen Democratic National Committee online correspondence.

These emails were released on WikiLeaks’ website and indicate that Democratic Party representatives were actively searching for ways to support Clinton during the primaries instead of remaining neutral, while trying to discredit her rival in the nomination, Bernie Sanders. Moscow strongly rejected these allegations.
