Health Ministry cold storage unit estimated at $398m -controversial Western Scientific bids again
Bids were opened yesterday at the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB) for a cold storage unit for the Ministry of Public Health which has been estimated at $398m.
Yesterday’s opening also saw a bid from Trinidadian Company, Western Scientific even though some of its other bids have been put on hold by the Ministry of Public Health following concerns about its activities here.
The bids are as follows:
Construction of Cold Storage Unit Drug Bond at Mudflat, Kingston, Georgetown. Procurement of Drugs & Medical Supplies Lots 1-3 Completion of Works to the Brickdam Lock ups, Brickdam Police Station Construction of Extension of Materials Management Unit (MMU) Storage Bond at Diamond, East Bank Demerara. Ministry of Agriculture Excavation of Drains and Canals, Construction of Access Dam and Construction of Hydraulic Structures at Mocha, East Bank Demerara. Excavation of Drains and Canals, Construction of Access Dam and Construction of Hydraulic Structures at Ithaca, West Bank Berbice Construction of Irrigation Structures and earthen works at Ann’s Grove/Clonbrook and Dochfour Neighbourhood Democratic Council, East Coast Demerara. Ministry of Public Infrastructure – Sea and River Defence Supply and Delivery of Boulders for Sea and River Defence Works within Districts 2, 3 &8 Retendering of Supply of 40,500m3 of White Sand Lot 1 and Supply of 7,200m3 crushed gravel aggregate Lot 3 for the East Bank Berbice Road Project Region 6.
