Lucozade Handicap Squash Tournament Wins for Cadogan, DeAbreu and Jonas on opening night

Defending category-A champion Abosaide Cadogan, Demetrius DeAbreu and Ethan Jonas secured divisional wins, when the Guyana Squash Associatio­n Lucozade Handicap Squash Tournament commenced on Wednesday.

Staged at the Georgetown Club Facility, Camp Street, Cadogan (0) defeated Nicholas Verwey (+7) 15 - 13, 15 – 11, while De Abreu (-2) edged Mohryan Baksh (+5) 15 - 14, 7 - 15, 15 – 11 and Jonas (-2) overcame Grant Fernandes (+13) 15 - 13, 15 – 13.

In the Open Category, Ryan Rahaman (+7) defeated Talia Fiedtkou (+13) 15 - 9, 15 – 10.

In other results, Lucas Jonas (0) defeated Noah Rahaman (+11), Kirsten Gomes (0) downed Osmond Mack (+10) and Louis Da Silva (+7) crushed Brenno Da Silva (+12).

The event resumes today at the same venue, with the final set for November 19th at 11:00 am.
