Trinidad mur­der rate climb­ing to 500

(Trinidad Ex­press) Two men were shot and killed overnight in sep­a­rate in­ci­dents in south Trinidad.

The vic­tims were iden­ti­fied as Nar­rad Bha­ga­loo of St Mar­garets, and Akil Sylvester, of Ste Madeleine.

In the first in­ci­dent, Bha­ga­loo was found gunned down in his home at Teak Drive.

Around 8.15 p.m. he was at home with fam­ily when two armed with firearm stormed into the house.

They went to his bed­room and opened fire, then ran out of the house.

Rel­a­tives ran into the room and found Bha­ga­loo was shot mul­ti­ple times in the head and up­per body.

Of­fi­cers of the St Margaret’s Po­lice Sta­tion and Homi­cide Re­gion III re­sponded.

In the sec­ond in­ci­dent, Sylvester was a pas­sen­ger in a ve­hi­cle when he and the driver were at­tacked.

Sylvester of Mi­das Ex­ten­sion, Corinth Hills, was in a car driven by Daniel Josiah, 30, of Bernard Street, Mon Re­pos.

Po­lice said Josiah was driv­ing the ve­hi­cle along Rail­way Line Road, Ste Made­line around 1.30 a.m.
