Po­lice de­stroy ganja farm at Mil­lie’s Hide­out

Over 8,000 mar­i­juana plants were de­stroyed on Satur­day af­ter the Guyana Po­lice Force dis­cov­ered two farms in the Up­per De­mer­ara River area.

Ac­cord­ing to in­for­ma­tion com­ing from the po­lice, be­tween 5 pm and 6 pm, the po­lice, act­ing on in­tel­li­gence, went to 8 Miles, Mil­lie’s Hide­out, Up­per De­mer­ara River, where they found a twoacre mar­i­juana farm with about 2,500 plants mea­sur­ing one foot to four feet in height, and an es­ti­mated weight of 675kg.

Sev­eral nurs­eries with ap­prox­i­mately 3,000 plants were also dis­cov­ered, along with four makeshift camps equipped with ham­mocks, a mat­tress, and a quan­tity of kitchen uten­sils, gro­ceries and ap­prox­i­mately 200kg of dried cannabis.

Ad­di­tion­ally, some 7 miles away, an­other farm was found along with 1,500 mar­i­juana plants mea­sur­ing two to four feet in height with an es­ti­mated weight of ap­prox­i­mately 225 kg. A nurs­ery con­tain­ing 1,500 plants and a makeshift camp along with dried cannabis, with an es­ti­mated weight of 100kg was also found.

As a re­sult, the plants, camps, dried cannabis and all the other items were pho­tographed and de­stroyed by the po­lice and the lo­ca­tions were marked for fur­ther in­ves­ti­ga­tion.

No one was found on ei­ther farm.
