Head of QC Science Dep’t robbed

-

Head of the Queen’s College Science Department Navendra Hardyal is urging persons to be conscious of their environment especially at nights after he was robbed last Thursday while walking home from a city restaurant.

Speaking with Stabroek News the Campbellville resident said that at approximately 9 pm he was walking home from the Hilton Restaurant on Middleton Street when he was choked and robbed.

“The chokehold that was applied was so intense it caused the blood vessels in my eyes to burst,” he explained noting that the incidence happened so quickly he is still confused about the sequence.

‘Everything is still sketchy. They came from behind so I did not get to see them and afterwards I just continued home because I was so confused,” he relayed.

A later visit to the hospital led to a diagnosis of ruptured blood vessels.

“Too much pressure on the throat caused the blood to accumulate in the blood vessels in the eyes which burst is what the doctor said,” Hardyal related while bemoaning the fact that someone tried to strangle him for less than $2,000.

“I probably had only $1700 to give them. They could’ve just taken my money and left me alone but I guess they felt the need strangle me,” he lamented.

He said too that he has made no report to the Police because he has no idea what to tell them.

“I can’t give a description. Can’t help an investigation in anyway,” he said adding that he could not remember if anyone was on the street at the time of the attack.
