Man confesses over Sophia gunning down

The Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the execution- style killing of Kitty resident Seon London and one of them has since confessed to his involvemen­t in the crime.

Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum last night confirmed that both suspects are presently in police custody assisting with investigat­ions.

Blanhum said one of the suspects was allegedly found in possession of a firearm.

According to Blanhum, checks will be made to determine whether the firearm was used in the shooting.

London also known as ‘Gaza’, 27 of D’Andrade Street, Newtown, Kitty, Georgetown was gunned down in ‘C’ Field, Sophia last Saturday.

The police had said both of the suspects were armed with handguns.

According to a police report, around 5.45 pm, London and his wife went to visit a friend at ‘ C’ Field, Sophia. His wife subsequent­ly left to buy food, leaving him and the friend sitting on a bench in front of the friend’s yard.

About an hour after, the police said while London and his friend were still on the bench talking, the two suspects approached on foot and at a short distance away they both pulled out hand guns from their pants pockets, pointed same in the direction of London and discharged several rounds which hit him after which he fell to the ground.

After shooting the victim, the suspects then ran west on the said street and made good their escape.

One of the suspects and another man, Kevin Mc Adam, 20, of ‘E’ Field, Cummings Park, had allegedly shot London in

May at Cummings Park, resulting in him being hospitalis­ed for a period.

McAdam was arrested and charged with attempted murder and is presently on bail, but the other suspect was never arrested, according to the police, who have said the case is presently pending in court.
