`Miracle baby’ goes home from Suddie Hospital

Doctors, nurses and midwives of the maternity ward at the Suddie Public Hospital are celebratin­g a baby who was delivered at 26 weeks weighing only 920 grams. The baby was born on September, 24, 2021, and was discharged two months later.

Despite being a premature baby, profession­al care from doctors and health care workers helped ensure that baby Javarious went home without any complicati­ons.

The mother, Annecia George, was overjoyed at her baby being discharged and referred to Javarious as a “miracle baby.” She admitted that she had given up hope because normally babies which such low birth weight hardly survive. She added that when she delivered she could not believe that her baby’s birth weight was less than 1,000g.

Annecia, who hails from Good Hope Village, Region Two, disclosed that it was her second pregnancy and the delivery was memorable. She related that in her first pregnancy she suffered a miscarriag­e.

She has named her baby “Javarious”, which means strength and is symbolic of her family. She also expressed gratitude to all the staff members at the Suddie Public hospital for the patience, care, and love given to the baby during his stay.
