Why is it suggested that Indians who do not delve into Hinduism are culturally lost?

I would like to thank Dr. Vishnu Bisram for his letter “It was a critique of Cheddi Jagan naivete” (SN, 1st December 2021) in which the gentleman seems to be inadvertently suggesting that those of us Indians who do not delve into Hinduism, are culturally lost. Hindu. I have always been a Christian. I am not a convert from Hinduism. How exactly is Bisram quantifying what my beliefs provides? Is it material wealth? Is it power? Is it fame? Is it spiritual wellbeing? Is it increased knowledge, wisdom and understanding?
