Police to probe shooting of suspect at South Amelia’s Ward

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) has commenced a probe into shooting at South Amelia’s Ward, Linden which landed a man the Linden hospital.

According to a GPF release, ranks of the Police Office Profession­al Responsibi­lity are currently conducting an invest gation into a shooting incident which occurred on December 0 It involved 36-year-old Marlon Brewster, who was shot by th police during efforts to arrest him.

The injured man then escaped but was later found after being admitted at the Linden Hospital Complex where he is currently under guard.

In addition, the shop located on Brewster’s premises was searched and the stolen generator was found. Two brush-cutter machines and a stereo speaker that were suspected to be stolen or unlawfully obtained, 115 grams of marijuana, and a utensil used for smoking marijuana were also found.
