Three more women die from COVID-19

The Health Ministry yesterday reported three more COVID-19 deaths with 62 new cases.

The Ministry of Health in a press release said the deaths of the three women ages 70, 76 and 79, two of whom were fully vaccinated, have taken the death toll in the country to 1020.

In the dashboard it was stated that the new cases were detected from 1860 tests. At present, some 14 persons are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 779 persons in home isolation, 44 persons in institutio­nal isolation and eight persons in institutio­nal quarantine.

The informatio­n presented on the dashboard also states that Region Six (East Berbice Corentyne) recorded 24 new cases, the highest number of cases across the country with the last 24 hours. 20 cases were recorded in Region Four, while Region One have three new cases; Region Three two new cases; Region Five, five cases; Region Eight one case and Region 10 six cases.

To date some 36, 639 persons have recovered from the virus.
