ASA College suffers another defeat

Guyanese national basketball players Akeem Crandon and Israel Yaw’s team ASA College was on the losing end of a 38-76 points defeat by Eastern Florida State College Saturday.

It was the team’s second consecutive loss and the duo could only combine for nine points, nine rebounds, one steal and a block in the lopsided loss.

Yaw tallied figures of six points, three rebounds and one steal. Similarly, Crandon recorded three points, six rebounds and one block.

It was the second defeat for ASA College who suffered a 72-88 loss to Raritan Valley Community College on Friday.

On that occasion, the combination amassed a combined 35 points, 10 rebounds, two blocks, two assists and a steal.

Crandon bagged 19 points, six rebounds and two assists, while Yaw registered figures of 16 points, four rebounds, two blocks and one steal.

ASA College of New York had gone on a 5-0 undefeated run before stumbling to backto-back defeats.

ASA College, to date, has recorded wins against University of Connecticut at Avery Point, Dutchess Community College, Essex County College, Union County College and Hostos Community College. The team will now turn its attention to Orange County Community College on Monday.
