Anna Regina couple in narrow escape after vehicle slams into utility post

The owner of the V-Tech cellphone repairs store at Anna Regina, Region Two and his wife narrowly escaped serious injuries two Sundays ago when their vehicle slammed into a utility post while swerving from a donkey.

The businessman Vick Sooragpaul and his wife Seromini Choomanlall were heading north at the time of the accident.

The accident occurred around 11 pm on the La Belle Alliance Public Road. Their vehicle suffered major damage.

Residents heard the loud impact and persons rushed to rescue the couple. They were taken to the Suddie Public Hospital, admitted and later discharged. Both of them suffered minor injuries.

Members of the business community are calling on the regional administration and the Anna Regina Town Council to get rid of stray cattle from the Essequibo Public Road. Daily, donkeys and cattle are seen roaming the township of Anna Regina.
