Meanwhile, the law firm, Christopher

Ram and Associates Attorneys-at-Law wrote PSC Secretary Ramesh Dookhoo on April 17 on behalf of attorney Christopher Ram threatening to take action if the elections proceeded in what was alleged to be a breach of the Commission’s Articles of Association.

The letter written by attorney Christopher Thompson said that “Our Client wishes to respectfully draw to

Council’s attention that the holding of such a meeting will violate Article 10.4 of the Commission’s Articles of Association, which requires that `All representatives to Council shall be duly nominated by the Sectorial or Representative Associations and the Corporate Members seven days befbre the Commission Annual General Meeting at which the Council shall be appointed.’

“Our Client instructs us that he is aware that the complement of the Corporate Members to the Council was only determined in the afternoon of April 17, 2023, i.e., one day before the scheduled Annual General Meeting.

“This breach is not only a matter of procedure, but is fundamental to our Client’s right to meet and brief his Corporate Representatives on the manner in which his views should be represented at the Annual General Meeting”.

Notwithstanding the letter, the PSC proceeded with the meeting.
