Ram­jat­tan ad­mits to ‘hav­ing drinks’ with UK ad­vi­sor to SOCU, af­ter Lun­cheon and Jagdeo ar­rested

Days af­ter Bri­tish High Com­mis­sioner, Greg Quinn, de­nied that staff from the Bri­tish High Com­mis­sion were with a Govern­ment Min­is­ter at a café in Ge­orge­town a day af­ter the ar­rests and de­ten­tion of top Peo­ple’s Pro­gres­sive Party (PPP) of­fi­cials, Pub­lic Se­cu­rity Min­is­ter, Khem­raj Ram­jat­tan, con­fessed a dif­fer­ent story. The mat­ter re­lates par­tic­u­larly to Bri­tish Ad­vi­sor to the Spe­cial Or­gan­ised Crimes Unit (SOCU), Sam Sit­tling­ton. At a fundrais­ing din­ner, Ram­jat­tan said, “The fact (is) that I had some wine with Sam on Wed­nes­day evening at Oa­sis was be­cause I wanted to thank him for the great work he did at SOCU.” The ‘drinks’ came af­ter top PPP lead­ers were ar­rested. Op­po­si­tion Leader, Dr Bhar­rat Jagdeo has called for an in­ves­ti­ga­tion.
