Jaguars blazing the trail at Regional Championships
Guyana Jaguars last Monday humbled the Trinidad & Tobago Red Force by an inning and 217 runs in their fourth-round match at the Brian Lara stadium in Port of Spain.
Taking first strike the Jaguars scored a massive 484 runs for eight wickets declared. Skipper Leon Johnson hit a magnificent 163 and he was fully supported by the in-form Vishaul Singh, who also scored a solid century.
The Jaguars then bundled out the Red Force for a paltry 120 runs in their first innings. Batting a second time, the Red Force was again dismissed for only 147 runs. The star-studded Trinidadian batting line up failed miserably against the Guyanese spinners, with Veerasammy Permaul capturing five wickets in the Red Force’s second innings, as he took nine wickets for 97 runs in the match.
The Jaguars, after the fourth-round matches, led the points table with 64.8 points. In second position is the Leeward’s Hurricanes with 44.6 points. Barbados Pride jumped to third position with 42.4 points, while the T&T
