PARQUE ECO-ARQUEOLÓGICO LOS NARANJOS
Este parque se encuentra en las orillas mismas del Lago de Yojoa, entrando por un desvío de tres kilómetros que comienza justo antes de llegar a la comunidad de Peña Blanca. Un centro de visitantes, acondicionado con un pequeño museo, cafetería y estacionamiento, recibe al visitante. Pero son los vestigios de una espléndida ciudad, cuya historia se remonta hasta el año 800 a. C., los que completan el espectáculo de Los Naranjos. This park is located along the shores of Lake Yojoa, at a three kilometer detour that begins just before the community of Peña Blanca. Named after the magical, deep blue color of its peaks, Cerro Azul Meámbar National Park stands guard over Lake Yojoa. Declared a national park in 1987, it covers an area of 312 square km and its highest peak rises up to 2,080 meters above sea level. There are comfortable cabins for small and large groups of travelers. The park is managed by the NGO Global Village Project, which also manages the La Naturaleza restaurant located on the side of the paved road. The latter is a good place to get information about the park. Admission fee is L 60.00 for adults, L 50.00 for students and $ 7.00 for foreigners. Children under 11 years old free.
