CATEDRAL DE SAN PEDRO APÓSTOL

La catedral está edificada en cruz latina con bóvedas que sostienen una cúpula central rodeada con pinturas de los apóstoles. La catedral no solo es un símbolo de fe católica, es un lugar importante de la cultura sampedrana. La fachada está compuesta por dos torres de campanarios en ambos lados, la puerta principal orientada al oeste y dos puertas orientadas tanto al norte como al sur, para acceso de la feligresía católica. El altar principal está incrustado con su respectivo retablo en una de las aristas. Además, sobre las paredes principales de la nave en cruz, se elevan amplios ventanales con figuras cristianas que realzan y dan luminosidad a la catedral. Las dimensiones de la catedral son: 66 metros por 35 metros, con una altura de 27 metros de alto aproximadamente.

Ubicado frente al Parque Central Luis Alonso Barahona en la tercera avenida del Barrio el Centro.

The Cathedral is built in Latin cross with vaults that support a central dome surrounded by paintings of the apostles. The Cathedral is not only a symbol of Catholic faith, it’s an important place for the sampedranos culture. The facade is composed of two bell towers on both sides, the main door facing West and two doors oriented both North and South, for the access of parishioner. The main altar is embedded with its respective altarpiece on one of the edges. In addition, on the main walls of the nave in cross, there are large windows with Christian figures that lets light enter the Cathedral. The dimensions of the Cathedral are: 66 meters by 35 meters, with a height of approximately 27 meters high.

It is located in front of the Luis Alonso Barahona Central Park on the 3rd Avenue of Barrio El Centro.
