FERROCARRIL NACIONAL DE HONDURAS
Uno de los transportes más utilizados en Honduras a mediados del siglo XIX era el ferrocarril, fue la realización de un sueño de avance en el país. La vía férrea partía desde Puerto Cortés, cruzando el Valle de Sula hasta llegar a Potrerillos, recorría una distancia de 95 kilómetros y constaba de 10 estaciones. El ferrocarril estuvo equipado con 30 locomotoras de vapor y con más de 600 carros para transportar bananos y otros fletes, 22 carros para transportar pasajeros, 13 carros tanque para transportar petróleo y melaza, 59 balasteros y 45 motocarros. Aunque en la actualidad el Ferrocarril no se puede utilizar como medio de transporte sí puede experimentar trasladarse en el desde la Gran Central Metropolitana y viceversa. Valor por pasajero: L5. Las salidas son de lunes a viernes, una a las 2:00 PM y la otra a las 4:30 PM.
