PARQUE NACIONES UNIDAS (EL picacho)
El Parque Naciones Unidas está compuesto por 395 manzanas de bosque y una zona protegida de 22distintos tipos de árboles. Cuneta con una altura de 1,327 metros sobre el nivel del mar. Laconstrucción de este parque dio inicio en 1937 a iniciativa del General Tiburcio Carias Andino y abrió sus puertas el 2deagosto de 1946. El parque cuenta con diversos senderos para disfrutar de la naturaleza, uncanopy de 60metros de altura, unimpresionante mirador para observar toda la ciudad, ya sea de día odenoche. Aquí se encuentra el Zoológico Metropolitano Rosy Walther, que alberga especies nativas de Honduras, al igual que el imponente monumentodel Cristo del Picacho, con una altura de 32 metros. Usted podrá hacer unrecorrido especial en el parque y maravillarse con las luces de la ciudad ya que ahora puede visitar el parque de noche. Horarios: Lunes adomingo en horario de 9:00A.MA10:00 P.M. Thepark consists of 395 forest blocks, 44 species of birds and a protected area of 22 different types of trees. It has 1,237 meters in height above sea level. Theconstruction of this park began in 1937 by the initiative of General Tiburcio Carias Andino and opened its doors onaugust 2, 1946. Since then it has been a natural jewel in the middle of the city. Thepark has several trails to enjoy, a 60meter high canopy, an a viewpoint to see the entire city, either
by day or night. Youcanalso findhere the Rosy Walther Metropolitan Zoo, which houses native species of Honduras and the imposing monumentofcristo del Picacho with a height of 32 meters in total. In addition you can take a special tour in the park and marvel at the city lights as you can now visit the park at night.
