Project: Lenca community petition to international organizations to fight against physical and sexual abuse of our Lenca girls and women.

My experience in Impact Junkie filled me with a lot of emotion and commitment, knowing that through my professional career, I can be an agent of change in the problems of our society, and Impact Junkie allows us to be more humane, supportive, and to give love to those who urgently need it. Most journalism today lacks that humanism and service to our community. Being part of this great project is a privilege and an incredible legacy that we as journalists will leave to future generations in our country; Impact Junkie must continue to bring that light of hope to every corner of the world and our nation.

When I began my training at Impact Junkie, I thought about the possibility of helping the girls and women of the Lenca ethnic group with a project that would provide them with psychological help and also that would prevent the physical and sexual abuse that they are victims, but during my research, I could see that currently there are already some volunteers providing this help in schools and communities; unfortunately, there is not as much support as we would like, so I oriented my project to become a petition that can be made through the Lenca community to international organizations to fight against physical and sexual abuse of them and thus generate more awareness about this serious and unfortunate situation.

This new year will be one of significant challenges and miraculous results. I am a woman of hope and faith and believe in a God who is more critical than any adversity. My purpose is to visit organizations such as the Human Rights Commission in Honduras, meet with the representatives of the UN and UNICEF in my country and talk to them about our project. We need allies in this critical fight. It is also essential that we start knocking on doors with organizations and journalists in our country who are fighting to defend the rights of girls and women.

Reflection: In the face of atrocities, we have to take sides. Silence encourages the executioner (Elie Wiesel). Let us begin to act and leave words aside; we must join forces to act as a society; we cannot remain indifferent to these abusive situations to our girls and women; as Elie Wiesel says, "we have to take sides." The violation of human rights continues to be one of the most invisible and littleattacked pandemics of our times. No one deserves to be oppressed. As a society, we cannot say that we are advancing towards development when we leave aside such cruel problems as physical and sexual abuse, the result of a community is not only in technology and science but in the protection of the human being and his dignity; hat is the fundamental thing.
