Among the exquisite array of jewellery auctioned by Sotheby’s at its Magnificent Jewels and Noble Jewels sale in Geneva in May was an Art Deco-style emerald and diamond necklace from the collection of American socialite Hélène Beaumont. Sold for 3.6 million Swiss francs, the necklace is believed to have been created by Van Cleef & Arpels for Beaumont, who was a renowned collector and loyal client.
