STAR POWER
Chopard celebrates its enduring partnership with the Cannes International Film Festival in 72 dazzling pieces inspired by the theme of “love”
Closely associated with the cinematic universe since partnering with the Cannes International Film Festival in 1998, Chopard describes itself as “the ultimate redcarpet jeweller”. And its Red Carpet Collection, an annual haute joaillerie ode to Cannes and its more than 70-year history, is just one way the maison proves itself worthy of the title.
This year’s collection – once again designed by Chopard co-president and artistic director Caroline Scheufele to match the number of festival editions – takes the theme of love in all its many forms. Each of the 72 unique pieces represents “an anthem to colour and daring shapes, as well as a celebration of precious stones and rich poetic references”.
Indeed, colourful precious stones play a starring role in the collection. Pink sapphires, Paraiba tourmalines, and Spessartine garnets as well as opals, emeralds and amethysts dazzle in settings of white ethical gold and titanium, their hues enhanced against expertly cut white diamonds.
The new series also includes additions to the
Green Carpet Collection, crafted from ethical Fairmined-certified gold and set with diamonds from suppliers approved by the Responsible Jewellery Council.
