Prestige Hong Kong - Tic Talk
1,812,500 Swiss francs ( HK$ 14 million)
While many kings have sported fine timepieces, this one belonged to The King: Elvis Presley. The Omega White Gold ref H6582/ D96043 has the words “To Elvis. 75 Million Records. RCA Victor. 12- 25- 60” inscribed on the back. The watch, sold by Phillips in Geneva, was accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, along with various items of memorabilia such as the book Elvis by Dave Marsh and the vinyl record Elvis is Back!. The watch was presented to Presley in early 1961 at a charity event and concert arranged by record company RCA, attended by the likes of the governor of Tennessee and the mayor of Memphis. RCA presented Presley with a plaque celebrating his worldwide record sales of 75 million; with it came this Tiffany- signed Omega. The price it fetched would have had The King himself all shook up: it went for about 20 times its estimate.
