Washington DC may be the hub of federal government but it’s much more than just a coat-and-tie city.

Visitors should visit the National Mall, which consists of 19 Smithsonian museums, all free – perfect for a budget-friendly holiday. A few notable ones are the National Museum of History, the National Air and Space Museum, and the National Museum of American History. Another must-see in DC is, of course, the White House, where you’ll want to snap a few selfies and enjoy a view of the historic grounds.

No visit would be complete without visiting Georgetown. It’s one of the oldest neighbourhoods in DC and has upscale shops, cosy cafes and chic restaurants along its cobblestone streets and handsome low-rises.

華盛頓雖然是美國聯邦政府的所在地，但卻並非一個古板嚴肅的城市。

訪客可以前往國家廣場遊逛，那裡有19家由史密森尼學會設立的物，博 館全部免費，令你以實惠的方式大開眼界。其中國家自然歷史物、博 館 國家航空及太空物，博 館 方及美國國家歷史博物館都是值得參觀的好去處。另一個不容錯過的景點，當然就是白宮了；遊可客方在外面拍照和觀看外面的草坪。

喬治城是華盛頓特區內一個非常古老的舊區，沒若 有前去遊一 ，頓華盛 之行就不算圓。滿 這個舊城區內仍有鵝卵石街道，高級商店、愜意咖啡室及時尚餐廳沿街林立，古古色 香而氣氛熱鬧。

DC is a great city for foodies. Start with a visit to Union Market, where you can try a variety of cuisines – from Israeli to Italian to Japanese.

To work off the feast, head over to DC’s buzziest new district, The Wharf. Located on the new waterfront, it’s got splendid views of the Potomac river as well as loads of shops to browse. In case you’re still peckish, there are also dozens of restaurants nearby, including Kith/Kin (Afro-Caribbean) at the InterContinental and Mi Vida (Mexican).

A short walk away is a true local gem – the Fish Market. Make sure to try the Maryland blue crabs, caught locally in Chesapeake Bay, or fresh oysters.

華盛頓美堪稱 食之城， Union Market市集內網羅各國美，食 讓你一次過遍嚐方色列、意大利、本日 及各地佳餚。

若想來頓的，豐富 大餐 不妨到華盛頓最熱鬧的全新The Wharf碼頭區去。你可欣方 賞波托馬克河的美麗風景，還可盡情瀏覽無數店舖。如果那裡的餐廳仍未能令你感到滿足，碼頭區附近亦有不少餐廳可讓你繼續美食之旅，墨括西哥餐廳Mi Vida方及InterContinental酒店內主打非洲及加勒比海風味菜式的Kith/Kin。

從碼頭區步行一段短短的，路就程來到Fish Market漁市，場 這是當地另一個美食寶庫。即日從Chesapeake Bay灣捕獲的馬利蘭青蟹，還有新鮮生蠔都是不能錯過的美味海鮮。

DC comes alive by night. Take in a rockjazz performance at Roofers Union in Adams Morgan, or catch a show at the Anthem, located in The Wharf district, which showcases upcoming indie bands as well as more established touring musicians (including Leon Bridges on 3 October and Nick Cave on 25 October).

For a more low-key evening, book a Monuments by Moonlight tour or rent a bike and cruise around the National Mall, which is really the best way to see the monuments in all of their floodlit glory. Finish the evening with a nightcap at one of my favourite bars: POV at the top of the W Hotel in Penn Quarter offers million-dollar views.

精采夜生活

華盛頓到了晚另上 有一番精采，不妨到Adams Morgan區的Roofers Union餐廳去看搖滾爵士樂演出；如果欣想 賞大型音樂會，可方到位於The Wharf碼頭區的Anthem音樂廳。那裡除了有獨立樂少新秀的演出之外，亦是不少著名音樂人巡迴演出的其中一站； 括10月的3日Leon Bridges及10月的25日 Nick Cave演唱會等。

如果想度過輕鬆寫意的晚上方，可參加Monuments by Moonlight巴士導賞團，租或 單車繞著國家廣場騎，一圈欣賞多個古蹟紀念碑在泛光燈照射下的堂皇氣派。遊可覽後 到酒吧悠日地小酌一杯我。 最喜歡到位於Penn Quarter區W酒店頂樓的POV酒吧去，那裡可欣方賞璀璨的城市夜景。
