INFLIGHT HEALTH ASSURANCE

Cathay Pacific frontline staff are trained to observe and assist passengers who may not be fit to travel; they are also trained in first aid and infection-control measures. There are well- equipped medical kits provided onboard. A USbased telephonic aeromedical service is also available. Aircraft are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected after every flight and additionally on a periodic schedule.

AIR VENTILATION / AIR CONDITIONING

The entire volume of cabin air is renewed every few minutes. Recirculated cabin air is passed through high- efficiency particulate arrestor (HEPA) filters that are more than 99.99% efficient in removing dust particles and airborne contaminants.

MEDICAL FITNESS TO TRAVEL

Cathay Pacific will deny passage to anyone suffering from an infectious disease that could pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others on the flight or who is assessed as being medically unfit to fly. Passengers should ensure they are medically fit prior to starting their journey. Please consult a doctor if you have medical problems or contact our reservations department if you have special medical considerations.

DEEP VEIN THROMBOSIS (DVT)

DVT is a blood clot that generally forms in the deep veins of the legs. Risk factors include prolonged immobility. Circulation can be improved by walking around the cabin if conditions permit, and by light, periodic movement of the limbs, either by stretching when standing or exercising while seated. It is advisable to avoid wearing tight clothes and it’s also important to stay hydrated.

PEANUT AND TREE NUT ALLERGIES

Cathay Pacific cannot guarantee that meals or the environment onboard will be free of peanuts or tree nuts; passengers with such allergies should make their own meal arrangements. Cathay Pacific will endeavour to provide cocktail snacks not containing peanuts or tree nuts to all passengers in the same cabin provided a documented request is received no less than 72 hours prior to the scheduled flight. Please be aware that substitution only applies to cocktail snacks. Meals served to other passengers in the same cabin may still contain peanuts and/ or tree nut products. Peanuts and other tree nut snacks are also available in our snack baskets and passengers in all classes are free to take these during the flight. More information can be found at
