Mosaic to cut fertilizer output
Mosaic Co, the world’s largest producer of phosphate fertilizer, plans to cut output by as much as 400,000 metric tons as buyers delay purchases amid price volatility. The reluctance among buyers “is lengthening the seasonal period of weak demand,” said the United States company in a statement. In November, the company said third- quarter phosphate sales were 2.1 million tons, down from 2.2 million tons a year earlier.
