China-standard trains begin service
China Railway Corp announced on Monday that its so-called China-standard bullet trains, have started operating in northeast China’s Liaoning province. The first train departed from Dalian for Shenyang on Monday. It is the first passenger service using China-standard trains, also known as electric multiple units, or EMUs, said Zhou Li, the company’s head of technology management. “China independently owns the design of the EMU, and it will be a leading model for China to export to the world,” Zhou said.
