Indonesia’s trade surplus narrows in July

Indonesia posted a lower trade surplus in July as exports of oil, gas and other commoditie­s fell. The national statistics bureau announced on Monday that the surplus decreased to adjusted $590 million last month compared with $900 million in the preceding month as the total exports fell faster than the total imports’ decline. Exports in July were down 17.02 percent to $9.51 billion year on year, and imports fell 11.56 percent to $8.92 billion in the month on a yearly basis, the bureau added.
