Bangladesh­i exports up 3.22%

Bangladesh’s total goods export income in the first eight months of the current fiscal year (July 2016-June 2017) grew 3.22 percent yearon-year to nearly $23 billion, boosted by ready-made clothing sales, official data showed. According to official statistics from Bangladesh’s Export Promotion Bureau released on Wednesday, the country earned around $22.84 billion from exports in the July-February period of the 2016-17 fiscal year. Bangladesh’s exports, however, fell short of target by 5.08 percent in the first eight months, the data showed. According to the EPB, export earnings stood at around $2.73 billion in February, a 4.49 percent decline year-onyear.
