Openness a chance for Latin America

The unprecedented openingup measures announced by Chinese leaders during the ongoing two sessions — the annual gatherings of the country’s top legislature and political advisory body — represent an opportunity for Latin America, said Ecuador’s former foreign minister Fernando Carrion. “China occupies a very important position and it is of enormous importance for Ecuador to maintain close ties with China,” he said in an interview with Xinhua.
