Tanzanian inflation rises 1 percent
Tanzania’s headline inflation rate rose 1 percent month-onmonth in February, the National Bureau of Statistics said on Wednesday. The figure marked an acceleration compared to the 0.8-percent increase registered in January. “The overall index increased to 106.97 in February 2017 from 105.92 recorded in January 2017,” said a statement by the NBS. The NBS attributed the increase mainly to food price rises.
